Many people around the world prefer goat meat for their food rather than going for the beef, pork, sheep or even chicken. In fact, an article that I have read said that more than half of the population in the world
eat goat meat. Although, I’m sure many individuals, too, have not tried partaking this meat.
Personally, I like goat meat. I love cooking them in different ways. I have a couple of recipes for cooking goat meat. Some of them I have shared with friends and family, and others I keep to myself.
One of the recipes I have shared in cooking goat is my recipe for the goat steak. Who, after all, can refuse a steak? I love cooking goat steak, as well as eating them.
There is one thing that makes my steak great. Let me share what this is.
The Secret to a Good Goat Steak
Well, it’s not really a secret as I have been giving people this tip for years now. The key to a great steak is the marinate. This goes for any kind of meat that you would want to cook into a steak, and not just for goat meat.
What do I put in the marinade that makes my goat steak delicious? Personally, I have found my secret from Vietnamese cooking. I use the cilantro leaves for the marinate.
Of course, I season my thinly sliced goat meat with salt and pepper. I then add some lemon because personally, I like a bit of kick, a tangy taste to my meat. Then I add some cilantro leaves to the mix.
There’s another tip that I want to share in making a good goat steak. Well, I leave the marinated meat overnight.
Many people just do not realize that good cooking requires patience or more importantly time. In the case of marinating meat, I make sure I leave it alone at the very least overnight. This is to give time for the marinade to seep through the meat. Some people make the mistake of marinating the meat for just a couple of minutes. Any good chef or cook worth their salt would tell anyone to give time for the spices or seasoning to seep through the meat. You cannot rush the process. Otherwise, the goat meat may just taste bland, failing to get the taste of what was added to marinate.
You cannot hurry love. Likewise, you cannot hurry cooking great steaks.
